Fat injection – Lipostructure

GUIOT FR PREGUIOT FR POST

Description

The aim of this intervention is to fill in hollow parts (natural or post-traumatic) of the patient’s body with fat removed from another part of his/her body.

These kinds of injections are used to fill in wrinkles, hollow parts of the face, or other irregularities.

It needs to be performed by a qualified surgeon.

In practical terms

Before the surgery:

The surgeon undertakes a clinical study in order to determine the changes and corrrections needed. The patient’s needs also depend on their ageing process. If a general anaesthesia is necessary, the patient meets the anaesthesist at least 48 hours before the surgery.

It is recommended not to take any medication containing aspirin or anti-inflammatory 10 days before.

During the surgery:

First, the areas from where fat will be removed are identified. The surgeon then removes the fat with cannulas through a micro incision. The transferable cells are separated from the rest and re-injected into the hollow areas with a cannula.

After the surgery:

The pain resulting from this intervention is not significant.

Bruises and swelling may appear (and disappear after 1 to 2 weeks) after the surgery.

It is recommended to avoid sun exposure on the treats areas.

The final result may take up to 3 to 6 months to be fully visible.

Small modifications may be necessary depending on the way the transplanted tissues react.
